During 2010, myself, Caroline, Hilary and Sophie attended Simon Shaws "flick and smack" clipper cutting seminar. This showed us the latest fantastic techniques in using clippers with different attachements to create amazing cuts on long, short, thick or thin hair - looks scary but the results speak for themselves.
In 2010, Caroline and Lucy attended Simon Shaws "funky dudes" seminar - the latest techniques in clipper cutting, similar to "flick and smack" but included techniques for hair that was long or split. This is ideal if you don't want to cut off your hair but need to put some condition back into it. Most people are amazed at how it works !! - Ask the girls for more details.
In May, myself, Lisa Jai and Sophie will be attending another Simon Shaw seminar learning how to create and work on your hair! This will include gents tramlines but up about 10 levels! - basically art and design on your head .
Our website has been updated with new team photos (including babies!) plus full details of our bridal services
Well, what a year 2010 was! Firstly, I would like to apologise for not updating this page sooner, but due to Lucy, Vicky and myself having babies it all got a little bit hectic!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the fantastic team at both salons. I could not have managed last year without them!
So, we have 4 new faces at Hair Affair Marden and Bodenham.
Lynda Hodges. Lyn was my business partner until a few years ago, but she has come back to the salon doing 2 days hairdressing, she is as busy as ever but nobody is surprised as her hairdressing talents have always been “perfection”. Cutting is definitely one of Lynda’s strong areas.
Hilary: I have known Hilary for a number of years through the industry. She works 2 days a week at both salons as well as running her own successful business. Hilary specialises in bridal hair and “put ups” for special occasions – her work is fantastic to view some of her creations at www.hilarys-wedlocks.co.uk
Lisa Jai (my niece): When I last updated this page, Lisa was our Saturday girl – she started her apprenticeship in September 2010 and really has so much potential! She is very keen and very talented. She requires as many models as possible any day of the week for all aspects of hairdressing, but I will be at the salon in Marden on a Wednesday every week to concentrate on supervised cutting. Please phone for appointments.
Charlotte (my niece): Saturdays at Bodenham salon, Charlotte is Lisa Jai’s sister, and hairdressing definitely runs in the family! I really do hope Charlotte will decide to join the team as she really is a pleasure to have with us.
Caroline, Ruth and Anne are still as busy as ever and Lucy and myself will be back to the salons in the next few weeks, after having time off with our babies; Poppy and Charlie Drew.
So to all clients old and new, thank you so much for continued loyalty during a very busy year!
A huge thank you to all the girls at both salons. couldn’t do it without
them.
